Crystal Anderson, CDA (patient care coordinator)
Crystal graduated from Lexington High School in 1989. She then attended Midlands Technical College and graduated with honors as a Certified Dental Assistant in August 1992. Crystal is an active member of the Columbia Dental Assistants Society and the American Dental Assistants Association. Crystal has been a resident of Lexington, South Carolina for thirty-six years. She has been married to Brian Anderson of Sumter, South Carolina for thirteen years. They have three beautiful children, Megan, Amber, and Zane. The family also has a Sheltie puppy named Quincy. Crystal enjoys spending her spare time with family and friends, as well as traveling throughout the Southeast to watch her daughters play softball. When the family is away from the softball field they enjoy the beach, movies and swimming pool.

Le Ann joined Palmetto Dental Associates in August 2007. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Le Ann graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1979. Le Ann has worked in dentistry for 10 years. She married in October 1989 to Randy Crowe from Athens, Georgia. Le Ann and Randy have four children: David, Joshua, Charlotte and Rebecca and one dog Cackie. Le Ann enjoys shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite sport is football... A BIG GAMECOCK FAN!!

Susan Hicks, CDA (dental assistant)
Susan has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over thirty years. She has been on staff at Palmetto Dental Associates since the practice opened in 1996. Originally from the quaint town of Turbeville, SC, she graduated from Trident Technical College and the Medical University of South Carolina with an Associate in Health Science in Dental Assisting in 1977. Susan has maintained her certification by attending numerous continuing education seminars throughout the Southeast. Susan stays active in the local and state level dental assisting associations. She is a member of the Columbia Dental Assistants Society, South Carolina Dental Assistants Society, and American Dental Assistants Association. As a breast cancer survivor, Susan traveled to New York City in 2001 to be interviewed by Diane Sawyer of the“Good Morning America” show. Susan enjoys participating in fundraisers for the Palmetto Health Foundation, First Ladies Walk for Life, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She also enjoys boating, fitness classes and reading. Susan resides in Lexington, SC.

Tandy has been a practicing registered dental hygienist since 1973. Originally from Tennessee, she graduated in 1973 from the East Tennessee State University with an Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Tandy is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association and the Columbia Dental Hygiene Association. She volunteers at theRichland County Children’s Dental Clinic. Tandy and her husband, Jim, live in Winnsboro, SC. They have two daughters, Meredyth and Andrea. Tandy is very active in her church and civic organizations. She is a member and past president of the Winnsboro Garden Club. She served on the Board of Directors for Richard Winn Academy, Board ofDirectors for the Athletic Booster Club, and P.T.O. Tandy enjoys singing and is a member and soloist for the Winnsboro Choral Society and the First Baptist Church. Two of her favorite activities are traveling with her family and friends and shopping!
Denise Rysz, RDH, BHS (dental hygienist)
Originally from Erie, PA, Denise graduated from McDowell High School in 1974. She and her family moved to SC 18 years ago after residing in Stuttgart,Germany and Tacoma, Washington. Denise originally spent 15 years in the banking industry before marking a career change into dentistry. She graduated from Midlands Technical College in 1995 with an Associate Degree in Health Science-Dental Hygiene. Her educational background also includes an Associate in Business Administration from City Colleges of Chicago, a Bachelor of Health Science from the Medical University of SC, and a Masters in Health Services Management from Webster University. Giving back to the community has always been very important to Denise, so she volunteers at the Children's Dental Clinic and local schools. Denise was given the opportunity to be a part of a mission dental/medical team that traveled to Limon, Honduras in 1997. Denise Rysz has practiced clinically full-time since 1995. She obtained expanded functions certifications for infiltration anesthesia and monitoring nitrous oxide in 1998 from the SC Board of Dentistry. Denise stays active in her local and state level professional organizations, and is currently the immediate past President for the SC Dental Hygiene Association. Her family life centers around her husband of 21 years (Stan), son (Gary- a recent medical school graduate), and daughter (April), and the newest love of her life, grandson Chase. Her interests include gardening, volunteering, and staying physically active. Denise and her family reside in Pelion, SC and enjoy several pets (cats, dogs, & horses) as part of their family.
